Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 June 2026

GutLog ("the app", "we") is built privacy-first. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

Data you enter

Everything you log is saved locally on your iPhone or iPad. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, your device backup (which may include the app's data) is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple's terms — we never have access to it.

Apple Health (optional)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, GutLog reads sleep and workout data on your device to display and correlate it with your symptoms. This data is processed locally and is never transmitted off your device. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app. GutLog does not write data back to Health.

Purchases

In-app purchases (GutLog Pro) are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized sales and subscription statistics. Purchase validation uses Apple's StoreKit on your device.

Sharing you initiate

If you export a PDF report, the file is created on your device and shared only through the destinations you choose in the iOS share sheet (e.g., Mail, Messages, Files). We are not involved in that transfer.

Children

GutLog is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version at this URL.
